He was an active member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army, formed in 1928. After the bombing of the Central Assembly in Delhi on April 8, 1929, Bhagat Singh and Batukeshwar Dutt became heroes of the people. This bombing proved to be a blow to the foundations of the government. His prolonged hunger strike in prison became a landmark in Indian history. Even after being sentenced to Kala Pani in the Andaman Jail, Batukeshwar Dutt participated in the peasant movement, the 1942 Revolution, and various subsequent freedom struggle movements, enduring the tortures of prison. He also served as a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from October 3, 1963, to May 6, 1964. His last wish was that his last rites be performed at the same place where Sardar (Bhagat Singh)s samadhi is located. After his death in Delhi on July 20, 1965, he was cremated near Sardar Bhagat Singhs Samadhi at Hussainiwala in Ferozepur. Batukeshwar Dutt, who had been with Bhagat Singh throughout his life, remained with him even after his death.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Prabhat Prakashan","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45870243840198,"sku":"DADAX9353229170","price":4.35,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0695\/9389\/1014\/files\/61FqVJYZikL.jpg?v=1779442821","url":"https:\/\/ergodemedia.com\/products\/batukeshwar-dutt-aur-krantikari-andolan-hindi-edition","provider":"Ergodemedia","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
