With a Masters in Journalism, he is involved in social, political, and cultural activities at the Gandhi Smriti Institute, an institution of the Ministry of Culture. And experience of organizing workshops and seminars by joining Darshan Samiti, Rajghat, Pavitra Prayas Trust, Udit Asha Welfare Society, Being Indian and Gandhi Gyan Mandir, Bihar. Presently General Secretary of Delhi Journalists Association (DJA), the Delhi unit of National Union of Journalists (India) established in 1972. In 2010, Amalesh Rajus famous book titled JP Jaisa Maine Dekha based on the memoirs of those who lived in the company of Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan was published.
