She learned to read well before starting school and had read most of the childrens books of that time well before her 10th birthday. She often managed to hide in the woolshed reading a book to avoid doing her general chores on the farm. At aged 11 she read Knock on Any Door, by Willard Motley which affected her deeply, as it led her into a world she did not know existed. She wrote to the author and was delighted when he answered this child from across the globe, and they continued as pen friends until just prior to his death in 1965. A copy of his last work Let Noon Be Fair, was delivered to Lynne by his Publisher after his death. Lynne credits him with giving her the love of words and a good story, and the tenacity to continue to follow a dream. Writing was put to one side as Lynne married, had two children and pursued a successful career as a senior fundraiser for several major charities. Over the years, she has owned and run, a childrens wear boutique, a coffee lounge and with her family been involved in owning and running several Pubs.( Taverns) in both Sydney and country New South Wales. Recently she decided to take up writing again, and this is her first venture into the world of publication.
