Shyamji Krishna Varma was one of them, who remained anonymous for a long time. At the time of his death, he said, My ashes should be taken to India only when it is no longer the British-enslaved India, but our free India. This wish of his was fulfilled 55 years after Indias independence, when Shri Narendra Modi became the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Shyamji Krishna Varma was born on October 4, 1857, in Mandli village, Kutch, Gujarat. He was a profound Sanskrit scholar and the first Indian to receive an M.A. and a barrister degree from Oxford. He also served as a Sanskrit professor at Oxford for some time. In 1905, he founded the Indian Home Rule Society with revolutionary students to protest against the excesses of Lord Curzon. In 1905, he established India House in England to lead the overall struggle for Indias independence. When the British government placed a guard there, he fled to Switzerland and from there began to sharpen the independence movement with his writings in The Indian Sociologist. He died in a Geneva hospital on March 31, 1933. For 73 years, his ashes remained in a Swiss museum, awaiting release.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Prabhat Prakashan","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45859849994438,"sku":"DADAX9351865282","price":2.81,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0695\/9389\/1014\/files\/81eAj9GDjBL.jpg?v=1779285653","url":"https:\/\/ergodemedia.com\/products\/krantidrishta-shyamji-krishna-verma","provider":"Ergodemedia","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
