He was a sharp scholar from the beginning, earning a BA and MA in Political Science and Sociology from the United States. In 1929, at the invitation of Pandit Nehru, he joined the Indian National Congress. During this period, Mahatma Gandhi became his mentor and guide. After independence and Gandhijis death, Jayaprakash Narayan, Acharya Narendra Dev, and Basawan Singh formed the first opposition socialist party. Later, it was renamed the Praja Socialist Party. Jayaprakash Narayan believed that simply changing the government would not solve problems unless the entire system underwent a radical overhaul. From the surrender of 400 Chambal dacoits; the historic student movement against the chaotic ruling system, poor education, crime, and anarchy in Bihar; and the call for a Total Revolution to change the system, to the overthrow of Indira Gandhis then-central government and the restoration of democracy, Jayaprakash Narayan played various roles as a Satyagrahi. Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan envisioned a total revolution to bring about social and economic change in this country and presented it to the nation. Presented here is a readable and inspiring biography of Loknayak, a revolutionary thinker, visionary, and social awakener of post-independence India.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Prabhat Prakashan","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45866905141446,"sku":"DADAX8177210947","price":3.86,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0695\/9389\/1014\/files\/816iPjWtd5L.jpg?v=1779364707","url":"https:\/\/ergodemedia.com\/products\/loknayak-jaiprakash-narayan","provider":"Ergodemedia","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
