1857 and Bihars Journalism Bihar has been a center of various movements since its inception. During the 1857 War of Independence, nearly eight hundred people were hanged in Bihar. Thousands were tried, and hundreds of villages were burned. The land and property of the rebels involved was confiscated and distributed among the traitors. Any rebellion or movement can be understood by studying the reports and news available at the time. This book includes news and articles related to 1857 published in Akhbar-e-Bihar, Delhi Urdu-Akhbar, Akhbar-al-Zafar, Sadiq-al-Akhbar, and the Bihar special issue of Nadeem. Two years before the 1857 rebellion, Harkara was published from Patna, and Akhbar-e-Bihar began publication in 1856. The author has studied Urdu newspapers and magazines and presented the material related to the 1857 rebellion in an engaging manner. This makes this book even more authentic and useful.
