As the title of the book suggests, this is a comprehensive book of English grammar, dealing with all aspects of the grammar of English, starting with the various parts of speech. Phrasal Verbs, Question tags, Transformation of sentences, Direct-Indirect speech are some of the topics discussed elaborately in the book. The book can be used by an enterprising teacher of English as a companion to whatever textbook of English they use. This book will help the teacher of English to expose the learners to the intricacies of the English language. Every feature of English grammar dealt with in this book is copiously illustrated with innumerable sentences written in simple, easy-to-understand sentences. In the entire book there are more than 2,300 illustrative sentences. A hundred and fortytwo commonly-occurring phrasal verbs are explained in the book with illustrative sentences. The illustrative sentences in each Chapter are numbered serially so that cross-referencing can be done by the teacher or learner with ease. Each Chapter is divided into sections and sub-sections, again facilitating cross-referencing. The book has ninety-four Exercises on the whole. Every concept discussed in every Chapter is followed by an Exercise, the object of which is to make the learners check forthwith their understanding of the concept concerned.
