Superstitions have come to hold a parallel power in human societies. With the expansion of education, science, and social awareness, their legitimacy has been increasingly questioned, and people who have long been victims of them have at one point found freedom from the hypocritical babas who run their businesses by strengthening the roots of superstitions. However, they emerge in new forms and reassert their hold on peoples psyches. Even today, in the twenty-first century, when technology and communication have made understanding many things easier, there is no shortage of such babas who, in a moment of psychological weakness, manage to seduce even well-educated people. Dr. Narendra Dabholkar and his Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti in Maharashtra have consistently fought against these babas and the common peoples instinct for blind imitation. Through direct contact with people, through agitations, and through continuous writing, he sought to uproot superstition through logic and knowledge, so that naive people would not fall prey to cunning and immoral babas, risking their hard-earned money, life, and health. In this book, he has named and exposed the cunningness of various babas, gurus, and those who spread illusions by claiming to be God or incarnations of God. These include names like Bhagwan Rajneesh and Sai Baba, who are quite popular even among educated people. He also provides stories of many people who fell victim to the babas fraud.
