Awara Masiha

Since its original Hindi publication, Awara Masiha and its author, Vishnu Prabhakar, have not only been honored with numerous awards and honors, but its translations have also been published and are being published in numerous languages. In addition to the Soviet Land Nehru Award and the Pablo Neruda Award, he has received the Sharat Medal awarded by the Banga Sahitya Sammelan and the Sharat Committee of Calcutta, and the Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, the literary academies of Maharashtra and Haryana, and other institutions. Translations have been published in English, Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi, Sindhi, and Urdu, and are being published in Telugu, Gujarati, and other languages. Sharat Chandra Chandra was Indias most beloved novelist, whose literature transcended all linguistic boundaries and became truly pan-Indian. He achieved as much fame and popularity in Hindi, Gujarati, Malayalam, and other languages as he did in Bengal. His works and the characters in his works have become a part of the lives of people across the country. The uniqueness of these works and characters has generated immense interest among readers in the authors own life, but until now, no comprehensive work had been published that could shed accurate and authoritative light on this subject. This book also contains sixteen pages of intimate and rare photographs related to Sharats life, further enhancing its usefulness. Although dozens of small and large works on Sharats life and its various aspects have been published in Bengali, no such comprehensive work has been published. This work, written in Hindi, has achieved this distinction for the first time.
