I feel we need a different vision for the country, similar to the one we had during the freedom struggle against the British. At that time, the spirit of nationalism was very strong. This different vision, necessary to transform India into a developed nation, will once again bring the spirit of nationalism to the forefront. Having reaped the benefits of development, the people of India are now desperate for more education, more opportunities, and more development. But their dream of building a prosperous and united India seems to be crumbling somewhere: divisive politics, growing economic inequality, and the demons of fear and unrest within the country and its borders are striking at the very core of the country. In such circumstances, this book raises and seeks answers: how to protect the nation and its concept and how to move forward on the goal of development. Dr. Kalam believes that the soul of any country is its people, and in their progress lies the progress of the country. Fueled by idealism but rooted in reality, Indias voice demonstrates that progress is within reach, both at the individual and national levels, provided we adhere to the principle that the nation is greater than any individual or organization and understand that only a borderless mind can build a borderless society.
