Between 1800 and 1925, the struggles of over two hundred Bhil chieftains in the Bhil regions never came to light. Most of the Bhil rebellions in Khandesh, Central India, and Maharashtra remained unreported. When discussing the 1857 rebellion, the contributions of Kaji Singh, Bhima Nayak, Bhagoji, Putta Singh, Mawasia, Khala Nayak, Dular Singh, Sitaram Bawa, Raghunath Singh Mandloi, Bhomiya Bisen Singh, and Kalu Baba were forgotten. This neglect of the struggle-filled history of an oppressed, uneducated, and persecuted society is truly a cause for concern because the Bhils never turned their backs on the national interest. After the nationwide movements led by Mahatma Gandhi began, they continued to struggle and sacrifice their lives until 1925. This book attempts to collect new documents about the rebellions in the Bhil regions of Central India, Khandesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. On the basis of new documents, an attempt has also been made to bring to light the life struggles of Tantya Bhil and his associates.
