Description

Cartoonist Pran envisioned an elderly gentleman who used his sharp wit to solve problems. Thus, Chacha Chaudhary was born in 1971. Sabu, a tall and sturdy resident of Jupiter, provided a powerful companion to Chacha Chaudhary. This combination of intelligence and strength made any challenge seem simple. It was said, Chacha Chaudharys brain works faster than a computer. The duo confronted both criminals and tricksters. Each episode ended with a humorous joke. The duo worked with utmost simplicity. Chaudharys family included his wife, Bini, whose tongue was like scissors, Sabu, a dog named Rocket, and an old truck named Dag, who was half man and half machine.Chacha Chaudhary was one of the most popular Indian comics. More than one million readers regularly read the series in newspapers and comics. The comic was regularly published in ten Indian languages. Pran is credited with coining the iconic phrase Chacha Choudharys brain works faster than a computer in an Indian comic. The iconic character of Chacha Choudhary is etched in everyones childhood memories, touching the hearts of millions across India.Pran wanted to include a school-going teenager in his comics. He created the character Billu, whose long hair obscured his eyes. Billu was often seen strolling his pet puppy, Moti, through the streets. He and his many friends played cricket in the block park and frequently broke windows in the neighborhood.
