Description

Vishnugupta Chanakya was an extraordinary child. His father, Chanak, was a teacher. He also aspired to become a teacher. He studied politics and economics at Takshashila University. Prior to this, he had already studied Vedic literature, including the Vedas and Puranas, as a teenager. His sharp intellect and logical reasoning impressed his peers and teachers; this is why he was known as Kautilya. After completing his studies, Chanakya began teaching at Takshashila University. During this period, North India was under the guise of numerous foreign invaders, including Seleucus and Alexander. However, Chanakya wanted to see India united. Therefore, he left his teaching at Takshashila and moved to Pataliputra, vowing to serve the nation. Chanakyas life unfolded on a harsh terrain, grappling with numerous contradictions. Some might think that his philosophy of life inspired revenge; but Chanakyas revenge was not personal, but public. He had witnessed and personally experienced the suffering of the people. He met the king with this complaint. Because Ghanananda was not a well-wisher of the people, Chanakya vowed to eliminate him. He gave the world a priceless treasure of principles, the Chanakya Niti, which has the potential to guide us in all areas of life.
