Those with coins in their pockets happily got drenched in the rain; those with notes in their pockets kept searching for shelter. When I wrote these lines, I had no idea they would be so popular that they would reach every mobile device through social media. I took up the social site Twitter when I had left behind so much in life. Well, let that go, lets leave that for another time. But writing on Twitter posed a challenge: the limitations of words. Big things had to be expressed in small words. This challenge of staying within limits was perhaps a blessing. Sometimes on the complexities of life, sometimes on the innocence of children, sometimes on the nuances of relationships, sometimes on the complexities of love, sometimes on the changing circumstances of the country, sometimes on the blurring of the distinction between village and city, all in small things. I had understood that social media has a deep reach. People praised and encouraged me, and with time, I even gained an identity, and that identity was called #mbaria. Nearly 2,500 lines have been collected on Twitter under the #Mbaria tag so far. This book is an attempt to select some of the best and present them to you. I have now presented 500 of my favorite small things to you, hoping that this book will also receive your love. Thoughts enhance the value of words.
