She realizes that education is the only weapon that can free her from her bonded life. Amidst all the ups and downs, Kalpana completes her studies. Living with and dealing with a tyrannical in-laws and husband, enduring bitter words of disrespect, she searches for her self-respect. One day, she abandons all burdensome relationships and sets out on a world tour in search of her own self. The name of this book is Chidiya Ud. In the folk songs of North India, Chidiya is often used for a daughter and daughters remain mere birds with wings cut off, but Kalpana, the heroine of this novel, flies. Spreading her wings, just like she used to fly in her dreams while playing the game Chidiya Ud in her childhood.
