Description
It is said that a sage was teaching his disciples something in his gurukul. Then, suddenly, he asked his disciple sitting in the front row to give each of them a guava from a basket full of guavas kept next to him. Then, the Guru said, Im going out for a while; please hold the guavas until I return. With that, the Guru left.About two hours later, the Guru returned and asked for guavas. Only two disciples had obeyed his Gurus command; they hadnt eaten any. Their Guru gave each of them a basket full of guavas. The disciples stared at him, perplexed. Then, the Guru explained to his disciples, saying, I knew you were all hungry all morning. Knowing this, I gave you each a guava and asked you not to eat them until I returned. This was a test of your patience, and only two passed; the rest couldnt bear the hunger. These baskets full of guavas are the reward for their patience. The sage continued, We often lack patience in our lives, which is why we miss out on achieving great things. Therefore, we must always be patient.
