This reveals the Gita not as a bouquet of diverse flowers, but as a river, with waves, whirlpools, and waterfalls, but the water that pervades them, their foundation, becomes clearly visible. The Gita is presented as a river that begins from the source of sorrow in ordinary life and journeys to the ocean of divine life. To achieve this, the entire Gita is interpreted by assigning subheadings to groups of four to ten verses, depending on the topic. These various subheadings are combined into a single heading that clarifies a chapter. The interrelationship between the various chapters is explained, making it clear that the Gita, from its first to its eighteenth chapter, outlines progressive levels of spiritual practice. Thus, the Gita becomes a guide for the journey from ordinary life to divine life.
