Himalaya

The story of no other mountain in the world is as mysterious as that of the Himalayas! Every peak, every crest of it is connected not only to our land, philosophy, and poetry, but also to the very essence of our lives. No other mountain in the world has been as important in the formation of human culture, poetry, philosophy, and religion as our Himalayas. It is as if it were an unbroken embodiment of Indias complex characteristics, untouched by time. In fact, the Himalayas have been an ancient companion to every new phase of Indian culture. Indian life, beautified by its bright shade, has risen to reach its pure heights, and has blossomed by merging with the rivers flowing from its heart. When the blue-red fiery clouds of conflict descended upon the Himalayas, the lofty, pure head of our nation, the nations consciousness sent a keen sense of impending crisis to every corner of the country. As the architects of the earths soul, writers and thinkers naturally shouldered a special responsibility. History has repeatedly proven that the extent to which a human group has identified with its land is to that extent its invincibility. Modern writers were also aware of their emotional legacy. Consequently, the impending crisis of the Himalayas has given their pens the sound of a conch shell of strength and a flute of faith.
