Description
The Chinese invasion of India in 1962 is an unfortunate event in the history of independent India, and the Indian Armys humiliating defeat is a blot. That defeat was not the armys fault, but rather the negligence of the then government. The Indian government remained obsessed with the Panchsheel principle and the slogan Hindi-Chini Bhai Bhai, even though infiltration across the Indian border continued after Chinas annexation of Tibet. The Indian Army, renowned worldwide for its bravery and whose valor helped the Allies win two world wars, was badly defeated in 1962. Infiltration along the border has increased in recent years, with Chinese troops sometimes penetrating several miles inside. The worrying aspect is that the Chinese army enters and leaves Indian territory at will. The sole purpose of this book is to prepare India for the challenges posed by the current crises facing the motherland. The circumstances are adverse, as if time wants to test Indias mettle, morality, and courage. Undoubtedly, some facts have emerged that cause great despair about the future, but we must not forget that out of dire and great crises, a bright future for nations often emerges.
