The cinema of that era played a significant role in shaping the mindset of the Indian people. By the 1970s, traditional forms of entertainment in India, such as nautanki, drama, Ramlila, and Raslila, were declining for various reasons. At that time, the cinema industry was experiencing an explosion of capital and talent.
