Description
Kailash Banvasi is known for his unique voice in youth fiction. His stories address the difficult task of identifying marginalized voices left behind in youth fiction. He has given space in his stories to those segments of Indian society who, living in villages and towns, are searching for their place in a changing India. Working women, farmers struggling in the fields, and the struggles of ordinary citizens are the starting point of Banvasis stories. He weaves his stories with simple language and powerful presentation, and the resolve reflected in his stories is truly a reflection of the path of Premchand, Renu, and Harishankar Parsai, making the story a commodity for the masses. In the new landscape of globalization, Kailash Banvasis stories successfully transport us to unseen and unknown areas of the country. Born on March 10, 1965, in Durg, Chhattisgarh, Kailash Banvasi is a prominent Hindi storyteller. In the early days of globalization in India, he captured the attention of Hindi readers and critics with his stories like Ramdhan in the Market. Banvasis stories are characterized by their authentic portrayal of life in Indias rural and urban areas. His four collections include Lakshya and Other Stories, Ramdhan in the Market, Yellow Papers Bright Ibarat, and Prakrosh. His novel, Lautana Nahi Hai, has also been published. He has been honored with the Shyam Vyas Award (1997) and the Premchand Smriti Katha Samman (2010). Currently, he teaches and writes.
