Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was a great economist in modern India. He had thoroughly studied hundreds of books on finance. His study and knowledge of the problems of the Indian economy can be seen from the statements he submitted to the government from time to time in the pre-independence and post-independence periods and also from his testimony before several commissions. His speeches are full of economic ideas. He was the first scholar in the country to shed light on the economic aspect of untouchability and the caste system. He is also credited with incorporating economic and fiscal provisions into the Indian Constitution. Dr. Ambedkar emphasized on nationalization of agriculture to solve the problems related to agriculture. Nationalization of agriculture will help to destroy economic slavery and create an economical welfare state. If the community farming experiment is implemented, it will help to increase productivity in the agricultural sector.
