Description
The sacrifices and struggles of the Indian tribes to protect their culture, self-respect, traditions, and autonomy are unmatched anywhere else in the world. In India, the tribes have been the first to fight and take up arms against every foreign invasion. This struggle has taken both forms: independent struggle as a military force under the command of state authorities, and sacrifice. If the indigenous powers were defeated by the deceit and force of foreign invaders, the tribes sacrificed their lives by hiding members of these royal families in the forests. In the second phase of the freedom movement, when the non-violent campaign for independence began, the Non-Cooperation Movement, the tribal communities initiated non-cooperation against the British in their respective regions. Tribal communities played the most important role in the Salt Satyagraha and the Forest Satyagraha. It is our historical mistake that despite the sacrifices of generations of forest dwellers and tribes, they are not adequately mentioned in the pages of history. Countless tribal warriors remain unknown and unrecognized, and theres no mention of them anywhere. While searching for stories of the supreme sacrifices of tribal heroes across the country, I came up with the idea of compiling a collection focused on the valor, valor, and sacrifice of 75 tribal heroes during the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. This is a small effort in that direction. Although the stories of tribal sacrifice are endless, only 75 have been included as symbols in this collection.
