Description

This is the only book by the author of famous ghazals like Woh Kaagaz Ki Kashti, Woh Barish Ka Paani and the famous Ramdhun Hey Ram that includes his ghazals, songs, and poems. Sudarshan Fakirs ghazals and songs have been sung by Begum Akhtar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, Pankaj Udhas, and other renowned singers. However, Jagjit Singh sang the most of his ghazals and songs. Sudarshan Fakir and Jagjit Singh were not only good friends but also complemented each other. Sudarshan Fakir also wrote songs for several films, and his song Mere Ghar Aana Zindagi... from the film Dooriyan was honored with the Film World Award in 1980. He also wrote the song Hum Sab Bharatiya Hain, sung in the NCC. Born in Ferozepur in 1934, Sudarshan Fakir completed his studies at DAV College, Jalandhar. He had a passion for theater, poetry, and poetry since his college days. After working for All India Radio, Jalandhar for a few years, he moved to Mumbai at the behest of Begum Akhtar. However, his family remained in Jalandhar, and he frequently traveled between the two cities. Sudarshan Fakir was a reclusive and reserved person, speaking openly to very few people. A man who eschewed fame, Sudarshan Fakir remained shrouded in obscurity, and perhaps that is why no book of his was published during his lifetime. On February 12, 2008, Sudarshan Fakirs pen ceased forever.
