KALPTARU (Hindi Edition)

The churning of the nectar gave birth to the Kalpataru tree, which Indra brought with him to heaven, because the Kalpataru can fulfill all desires. Heaven is where desires are fulfilled; and the struggle to attain it has been going on since eternity. Gods and demons are at war with each other for control over heaven; while on earth, humans are struggling to fulfill their desires. Everyone desires the Kalpataru. After obtaining it, one wont have to say, like Ghalib, There are thousands of such desires... because desires are being fulfilled. Indra, after all, represents the pinnacle of sensual pleasures; therefore, he has always been threatened by asceticism. Like Indra, you too have understood that yoga and enjoyment cannot coexist. But Shakti is an exception to this rule. She married the yogi Shiva, making him a householder, and took on the responsibility of fulfilling the desires of the entire universe. And yet, this same power resides in every living being in the form of hunger and desire. That is why the Kalpataru is special. He assures that you will get whatever you ask for. This faith makes efforts alive and active. Life seems complete. Om Purnamadah Purnamidam Purnaat Purnamudchyate. Purnasya Purnamadaya Purnamevashishyate. Come, let us realize this peace prayer of the Upanishad in the company of Kalpataru.
