The writing felt good, sometimes very good, and beyond good, powerful. Its neither local nor time-bound...this is the novels hallmark. The author has consistently explored the poignant causal world behind the characters and events he has chosen, and their actions. The tendency to find oneself in others...the novelistic vision of Lal Peeli Zameen...seems credible to me. Jainendra Kumar Interesting to read, and from a readers perspective alone, this is a successful, powerful novel that leaves a lasting impact. I remember many of its characters and events, and will always remember them. Regionalism is limited only to the linguistic context. The novels language fascinated me greatly. This novel has given Hindi many words that todays sophisticated Hindi can more easily absorb. This is a significant contribution of this novel from a linguistic perspective. Agyeya There is no aspect of Bundelkhand, from birth to death, that is not captured in this novel, and that too firsthand. This novel has many strengths, but its greatest is Govind Mishras narration, which keeps things moving from beginning to end. This book will shine like a star in our literary world.
