The great Russian author Leo Tolstoy was a respected writer of the 19th century. In his youth, he served in the Russian army for a time and participated in the Crimean War (1855). The following year, he left his job and began writing, a path laid in his childhood. His novels, War and Peace (1865-69) and Anna Karenina (1875-77), are among the greatest works of world literature.Despite being financially prosperous and respected, he yearned for inner peace. Finally, in 1890, he renounced his home and wealth to serve the poor and died as an anonymous old man in poverty on November 20, 1910.An inspiring biography of the great author of countless widely read works that touch the human heart and convey the message of social equality and mutual understanding.
