Rasbihari Bose was an Indian revolutionary leader who played a significant role in the Ghadar conspiracy and the organization of the Azad Hind Fauj against British rule. He had dreamed of the countrys independence since childhood and was deeply interested in revolutionary activities. He not only played a leading role in organizing many revolutionary activities in India, but also remained engaged throughout his life in efforts to achieve Indias independence, even while living abroad. Rasbihari Bose played an influential role in planning the bombing of the then Viceroy, Lord Charles Hardinge, in Delhi, plotting the Ghadar conspiracy, and later, going to Japan to establish the Indian Independence League and the Azad Hind Fauj. He played a significant role in the freedom struggle. He met Amarendra Chatterjee of the revolutionary organization Yugantar, led by revolutionary Jatin Mukherjee, and joined the revolutionaries of Bengal. Later, through contact with Jatindranath Banerjee, alias Niralamba Swami, a political disciple of Sri Aurobindo Ghosh, he came into contact with prominent Arya Samaj revolutionaries of the United Provinces (present-day Uttar Pradesh) and Punjab. The inspiring life story of Rasbihari Bose, a prominent figure in the long line of martyrs of the Indian freedom struggle.
