Description

Mahatma Buddha renounced his home to escape the pain and suffering of the mortal world and to understand the secrets of life. He endured physical suffering for a long time and attained enlightenment. He gained understanding of the living world, and hence he was called a Buddhist. He preached non-violence to humanity. No matter how simple a profound or wise statement is made, it is difficult to fully understand; but if it is presented in the form of a story, it is easily remembered forever. These stories of Mahatma Buddha are just such.In these, events and teachings from his life are told through simple stories in simple language. These short stories are both distinct and interconnected, yet they are full of narrative essence. This collection is a readable collection of interesting and inspiring stories that illustrate non-violence, morality, charity, and human values.Gautama Buddha (born 563 BCE nirvana 483 BCE) was a Shramana whose teachings founded Buddhism. He was born in Lumbini in 563 BCE to King Shuddhodhan of the Ikshvaku Kshatriya Shakya clan. His mother, Mahamaya, belonged to the Koliya clan, and died seven days after his birth. He was raised by the queens younger sister, Mahaprajapati Gautami. After his marriage, Siddhartha abandoned his only newborn child, Rahul, and his wife, Yashodhara, and departed for the forest at night, renouncing his royal duties, in search of true divine knowledge and the path to liberate the world from old age, death, and suffering. After years of rigorous meditation, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya (Bihar), transforming from Siddhartha Gautama into Lord Buddha.Siddhartha not only studied the Vedas and Upanishads under his guru, Vishwamitra, but also learned statecraft and warfare. No one could match him in wrestling, horse racing, archery, and chariot driving. At the age of sixteen, Siddhartha married Yashodhara. He lived with Yashodhara in a luxurious palace equipped with all the amenities his father had designed for the seasons, where their son, Rahula, was born. However, after marriage, his mind turned to detachment, and he abandoned his family in pursuit of true happiness and peace.
