This book by Narendra Dabholkar, a staunch advocate of a rational way of life, focuses on this very topic. He co-authored this book with psychiatrist Hamid Dabholkar. Thus, while it provides a scientific introduction to the structure of mental disorders, it also helps us understand the contradictions of the religious, social, and spiritual superstitions surrounding mental illnesses prevalent in Indian society.
