Era-makers of journalism: Moolchand Agarwal, Krishnanand Gupta. A man of extraordinary personality and diligence, Mr. Moolchand Agarwal not only brought the Hindi daily Vishwamitra to the pinnacle of popularity, publishing its editions in five metropolitan cities across the country. He also carved his name in golden letters in the history of Indian journalism by publishing more than a dozen newspapers in Hindi, English, and Bengali from the Vishwamitra group of newspapers. As the founder of Europes Daily Mail and General Trust, he became known as the North Cliff of India, and especially of the Hindi journalism world. Mr. Krishnanand Gupta holds a special place among Hindis learned and people-conscious editors. With his excellent editorial skills and vision, Krishnanand Gupta transformed the anthropology-focused magazine Lokvarta into a respected journal among scholars. In 1933, he edited the Orchha issue of Sudha, which became the basis for his move to Tikamgarh (Madhya Pradesh) and assuming editorial responsibility for Lokvarta. For two and a half years, Gupta edited Sangam, published from Leader Press, Allahabad.
