Description
Its not easy to say why a story becomes popular. But there are some criteria. This collection includes stories published between 1972 and 2014. The year of their first publication is listed below the story. Before being published as a book, each story was published in a popular magazine; this may be one reason for its popularity. Many other stories, such as Madhup Journalist (1975), Ta (1979), Mere Desh Ki Mitti Aha (1998), Woh Doosri (2003), and Sitaam Ke Fankaar (2014), became popular due to their irony or sarcasm. The main characters in Madhup Journalist and Sitaam Ke Fankaar are men, while the others are women. However, their popularity was not due to their nuanced portrayal of men or women, but due to their exposure of the selfishness, greed, and extreme insensitivity hidden within the arrogance of influential people. Between 1975 and 2014, from Madhup Patrakar to Sitam Ke Fankar, the tone of sarcasm or irony grew sharper and its expression more subtle. Renowned storyteller Mridula Gargs stories are such that the reader, faced with hitherto unfamiliar faces so different from their own lives and personalities, initially feels uneasy and irritated, but ultimately, enthralled, reads the story multiple times.
