Description

Like an ocean in a pot, this book presents a collection of the best and most representative poems from the vast works of timeless Hindi poets, along with detailed analysis.Narsinh Bhagat was a popular saint poet among the people of North India, whose poems are still memorized by people. His full name was Narsinh Mehta, and he was born in Gujarat, but his fame spread to Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh. His poetry has two distinctive features. First, he is a poet of the people, so much so that there is no other such people-conscious devotee poet in Indian literature. His concerns and concerns are worldly, as evidenced repeatedly in his writings. The second characteristic of his poetic world is that it is full of romance, and at the same time, the voices of devotion and renunciation are profound and vocal. Narsinh Mehta considered himself more of a devotee and less of a poet, but in reality, his works are spontaneous and natural poems. Overall, his language is a blend of Gujarati, Marathi, and Rajasthani. This collection is just a sample of Narsinh Mehtas vast literature. This book has been selected and edited by Madhav Hada, renowned as an expert on the Bhakti period. Former Professor and President of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Madhav Hada has been a Fellow at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla. He is currently a member of the General Assembly and Hindi Advisory Board of the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi.
