Pinjara: The Cage (Hindi Edition)

Pinjara: The Cage is a collection of nine stories based on the findings of government agencies during inspections of childrens homes. A childrens home belonging to a politically influential family, in exchange for foreign funding, prevented a child from being adopted by a family. The conditions of children in some of the countrys childrens homes are truly abysmal. Children there are not properly fed, nor are their living facilities adequate. Some childrens homes are being run to convert children to other religions. In some, even rapes have been a frequent occurrence. Theres also a story where land mafias across the city tried to demolish a childrens home for a piece of land.Due to their political influence, action was not taken against them for a long time. Later, when social audits of all the childrens homes across the country were conducted one by one, these facts came to light. In some of these cases, the police even filed FIRs, and in others, the cases reached court. A lot of research has gone into writing these stories, so that the truth can reach the people and the condition of the children living in these childrens homes can improve, so that they can have a bright future.
