Description
Piyavasant Ki Khoj is a realistic novel about todays pressing issue: the dowry system. In writing this novel, the author has adopted a neutral perspective, not attempting to garner moments of contemporary joy. However, this does not mean that he is indifferent to the social justice and injustice trends arising from the current situation. Had he been indifferent, he would not have even touched upon this burning issue. The authors neutral perspective in the novel emerges as a sociological representative from beginning to end. Consequently, he has captured the dualistic ideology coursing through the parents of the girls in various images, and through these symbols, he has presented his novelistic thinking to the readers with all its pre-established characteristics, making it meaningful. While this work reveals the authors anguish for unmarried women in their twilight years, his judge-like heart also remains aware that even well-off parents display a feigned helplessness in the name of giving away their daughters. Therefore, this novel, written on the dowry system, is not a fashion statement but a mirror of factual truth that exposes both plaintiff and defendant. It is hoped that this novel will be read and appreciated with this social awareness.
