Description
Along with the struggle for Indias political independence, Mahatma Gandhi began deeply reflecting on the countrys social and economic freedom. To this end, he conducted continuous experiments in his ashrams and, based on their results, encouraged the public to adopt them. All his experiments were based on indigenous resources and technology. He believed that only through indigenous resources could the countrys people become economically self-reliant. After independence, the government was expected to formulate its policies around Gandhijis ideas for social and economic freedom. Unfortunately, this did not happen. After independence, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya deeply contemplated and pondered on this subject, giving rise to the timeless economic philosophy of Integral Humanism. He also expressed his views on social, political, and foreign policy issues facing the country from time to time. These thoughts have been compiled and presented in the book Pt. Deendayalji: Inspiring Thoughts.
