Like an ocean in a pot, this book presents a collection of the finest and most representative poems from the vast body of Hindi poets, along with detailed analysis. Raidas (1410-1500) is a major and important saint poet of the Bhakti movement. The most striking feature of his writings is his ethnic identity. In the limited social environment of the medieval period, such unflinching self-respect for his status and caste makes him unique in the entire Bhakti literature. In his Nirgun Bhakti, Raidas considers the soul and the Supreme Being as one. He also repeatedly condemns Maya, which misleads humans from the path of devotion to God and equality. This selection presents a selection of Raidass best works, selected from his poetic world, in five sections. The consciousness of ethnic identity and the uniqueness of devotion in these selected poems make this collection both readable and collectible. This collection has been edited by Dr. Madhav Hada, renowned as a scholar of the Bhakti period. Dr. Hada, a former professor and head of the Hindi department at Udaipur University, is an expert on medieval literature and poetry. Currently, Dr. Hada is the editor of the journal Chetna, published by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study, Shimla.
