The Ramayana has been a powerful thread of cultural unity in India. While extensive Rama literature has been written in various genres in ancient Indian languages (Pali, Prakrit, Apabhramsha, etc.), it is also available in almost all countries of South Asia and Southeast Asia, such as Java, Bali, Malay, Indochina, Siam, and China. Chinas Dasaratha Kathanam, Indonesias Ramayana Kakawin, Javas Serataram, and Siams Ramakien are just a few examples. The Ramayana is an inexhaustible treasure trove of moral values that enrich human life. Valmikis Ramayana is perhaps the first text in world literature to present a poetic, practical, and embodied embodiment of moral values. These values are so useful and important for human progress and well-being that after Valmikis Ramayana, a long tradition of Ramayana was established, in which these moral values were shown to be practiced and incarnated in life. In Ramcharitmanas, they were given divine dignity. In this book, a comparative study of the moral values embodied in Valmiki Ramayana, the original text of Ramayana, and the summit text Ramcharitmanas, has been conducted to assess their usefulness in human life.
