It possesses the same spark as written criticism. Sahitya Ki Pehchan is primarily a collection of lectures and oral notes focused on poetry and short stories. There are more lectures, fewer oral notes. Of these, the number of lectures on poetry is higher. The first section contains poetry-focused lectures. Most of the lectures focus on modern poets. Three independent lectures on Nirala can be considered the books achievements. All three focus on Niralas later poems and often consider them from a new perspective. There is an internal unity in all three lectures. They also have a coherence with the lectures focused on Sumitranandan Pant and Mahadevi. Lectures titled Romanticism and Chhayavad and Romantic vs. Modern clarify the ideological background of these five lectures.
