Its well known that India was called the golden bird. When most countries in the world were backward, India was a prosperous nation. Before British rule, it was one of the worlds wealthiest nations. Ironically, today India is grappling with numerous challenges. Poverty, unemployment, corruption, casteism, regionalism, nepotism, child labor, starvation, malnutrition, farmer suicides, religious conversions, infiltration, illiteracy, commercialization of education, Naxalism, terrorism, and rampant inflation are worsening the countrys situation. The root cause of these problems is our blind imitation of Western countries, when we should have sought solutions to our countrys problems within our own soil. But history bears witness that despite facing many storms, India has proven resilient. During the recession, when even the developed nations of the world faltered, India remained as steadfast as a rock. The dream of a prosperous India in 2020 can only be realized when we abandon Western imitation and advance our development process in accordance with our own nature. Instead of making India a carbon copy of the West, let India remain India.
