Sansar Mein Nirmal Verma : Uttararddh

This second volume of Nirmal Vermas work, Sansar Meinthe latter partpresents interviews taken during his heyday. This was also a period in his life when he repeatedly faced controversies due to his views and their fearless expression. These interviews undoubtedly echo these controversies. In addition to his ideological and creative journey, Nirmal also gives voice to his personal experiences related to his childhood, family background, and some pivotal moments in historysuch as Partition and Gandhijis assassination. His views on topics such as religion, history, Marxism, language, international literature, Indian politics, the Emergency, and more are both revealing and thought-provoking. For example, while reflecting on the crisis in the Hindi-speaking community, he says that its understandable if a Hindi-speaking person doesnt understand a Kerala film, but if the general public finds it difficult to understand Hindi writers or Hindi filmmakers, it signals a deeper cultural crisis.
