Description

During the Mughal rule, Samarth Guru Ramdas was pained by the Mughals atrocities, misdeeds, and lawlessness. When he was twenty-four years old, he set out to tour India; at that time, all of North India was suffering from the atrocities of Aurangzeb. He realized that only through religious and public consolidation could the nation combat slavery. Religious consolidation required unwavering devotion to God and unwavering faith in Him; and through public consolidation, public power had to be awakened. Ramdas Swami, after traveling India and arriving in Maharashtra, received good news. Shivaji, son of Shahaji Raja and Jijabai, had conquered a few forts in Maharashtra from the Muslims, ushering in the independence of India. Ramdas Swami was a warrior ascetic. Shri Samarth Ramdas Swami was a staunch devotee of Lord Shri Ram. He had firmly envisioned Ram Rajya in his mind. That vision was becoming a reality in the form of Shivaji Maharaj. While carrying out this monumental task of awakening the people, he awakened the spirit of nationalism, Hinduism, and self-rule in the people. He established 1,100 monasteries and initiated 1,400 monks. From 1632 to 1644, he traveled throughout India, traveling from the Himalayas to Kanyakumari and Lanka. This novel, which offers a glimpse into the sacrificial, inspiring, and ascetic life of Samarth Guru Ramdas, will awaken our dormant social and national consciousness.
