Sitamarhis true achievements can be seen in its spiritual contemplation, but related texts written in Sanskrit and Mithila script are scattered around, becoming food for termites. Locating and bringing these books to light is a difficult but important task. If all this material is published, a true glimpse of Sitamarhis splendor can be realized. Until initiatives are taken in this direction, Sitamarhis exploration will remain incomplete.Sitamarhis development is indeed incomplete and haphazard. Floods and famines are chronic problems in the region. Mosquito infestations due to waterlogging after the earthquake have led to the emergence of new diseases. The burden of a growing population is unbearable. People are restless due to unemployment. The pace of development is hampered. Fear, hunger, and corruption are rampant.This book can be considered the first practical gazetteer of Sitamarhi district. Sitamarhi was previously a subdivision of Muzaffarpur district. The first gazetteer for Muzaffarpur district was published in 1907 by an English ICS officer, Mr. L.S.S.O. Meli. The district was then part of the Bengal province. Half a century later, in 1958, Mr. P.C. Roychoudhury presented a revised gazetteer for Muzaffarpur district. Both were done at the government level. This is the first attempt at a non-governmental level to produce something similar to a gazetteer for the newly created district of Sitamarhi, which provides a glimpse into Sitamarhis glorious past and rich socio-cultural life.
