Description

About The Book

What Makes A Hero? What Defines A Villain? Or Are We All, Like The MahabharataS Greatest Characters, Somewhere In Between?

The Epic Within Is A Reflective, Thought-Provoking Exploration Of The Epic Through The Lens Of Character. Moving Beyond Simplistic Binaries Of Good And Evil, This Book Invites Readers To Rediscover Familiar Figures-Bhishma, Karna, Draupadi, Krishna, Kunti, Arjuna, And Others-Through Their Choices, Contradictions, And Complexities.

Blending Timeless Wisdom With Contemporary Insight, The Author Offers Personal Interpretations Of Key Characters And The Moral Dilemmas They Face. Each Chapter Becomes A Mirror, Prompting Us To Reflect On How Our Own Decisions-Driven By Habit, Compulsion, Or Principle-Shape Our Lives In Similar Ways.

This Is Not A Retelling Of The Mahabharata. It Is A Conversation With It.

Whether YouRe A Curious Reader, A Seeker Of Philosophical Clarity, Or Someone Navigating Your Own LifeS Grey Zones, The Epic Within Offers A New Way Of Engaging With An Epic That Is As Relevant Today As It Was Thousands Of Years Ago.

About The Author

Manish Daga, Born In Kolkata In 1966, Comes From A Marwari Business Family With Cultural Roots In Both Bikaner And Kolkata. Influenced Early By Leftist Ideologies, His Perspective Transformed After Reading The Gita, Sparking A Deep Interest In The Vedas And Ancient Scriptures.

He Has Since Pursued Courses On Vedic Knowledge And Is Currently Enrolled In A MasterS Program In Vedic Literature At Bsis. The Epic Within Is His First Original Book, Following His Summary Of Talks On The Gita By Vinoba Bhave.

Through His Journey, He Believes In Keeping At Least One Door Of The Heart And Mind Open, To Allow Transformation To Unfold.
