His works include Asrar-e-Khudi, Rumuz-e-Bekhudi, and Bang-e-Dara, which includes Tarana-e-Hind. His Persian poetry is highly popular in Iran and Afghanistan, where he is known as Iqbal-e-Lahore. He wrote extensively on the religious and political philosophy of Islam. It was Iqbal who first used the term inquilab to refer to political and social change. He was the first to incorporate the theme of revolution into Urdu poetry, which will undoubtedly guide todays young generation.
