Description
1973 Sahitya Akademi Award for Tamil novel Verukku Neer. I went to Calcutta, the capital of Bengal. The story depicts the scenes and experiences I witnessed there. I traveled to the state of Bihar to see that peaceful daily life from many angles; I stayed in Patna for two months. If the ignorance and poverty that led to the political situation are reconciled, violent uprisings cannot be ruled out. I also had the opportunity to visualize the depravity of the same thing at ceremonies such as the banquet at the top of the day. The basic Gandhian ideals of individual morality for society have slipped away. That day, the excitement and sadness that befell me made this novel a fictional stimulus. A wide variety of people, analysts and politicians have read this novel and asked me for my opinions and doubts in many ways. The ideas and revolts that occur in my mental arena due to the effects of external life have been the impetus for my literary works. I have the literary form of the novel as my commentary language. In that sense I have browsed through the characters of the people I met in Calcutta and Bihar that day; They all appear to be representatives of society, not individuals. The storyline may be different as you develop personal problems. Ingo, shows, currents, not fantasy.
