Description
Divided Dawn is the third and final installment in Manu Sharmas three-part series of novels. Its time period is post-independence. After the chains of slavery were broken, the country saw the dawn of freedom, but this dawn was divided. The country was divided into two partsIndia and Pakistan. The British wanted the two countries to remain eternally at odds. On the one hand, they patted Jinnahs back and, on the other, encouraged the Aman Sabhais. The Aman Sabhais were inherently opposed to the Surajis. The British had formed their organization precisely for this reason. The Aman Sabhais kept sending Daliyas to British officers and even passed on secret information about the Surajis to them. Amidst this confusion, Indian politics was progressing when a crazy Hindu shot Gandhiji. The worshiper of non-violence was killed in violence. The novel also examines the reasons for this. It is also an eyewitness to the orgy of communal violence that unfolded on the basis of the Two Nation Theory. Divided Dawn presents a meaningful, sensitive, and realistic picture of a fragmented India. It reflects the authors intense, intimate, and emotional depth. The story continues to resonate with the sting of a divided dawn until the very end. Divided Dawn brings to light the mirage of freedom and the burning problems facing the country.
