Description
There are numerous books on the history of independence. Some include biographies of the leading figures, but despite extensive research, nothing substantial has been found on the equal participation of women. The dedication, sacrifice, and self-denial of women in spinning the charkha in every home, promoting khadi, boycotting foreign clothes, staging sit-ins, eradicating untouchability, making the prohibition movement a success, and abolishing the practice of purdah (veil) made the national independence movement strong and successful. Women marched shoulder to shoulder with their male volunteers and workers. However, given the limited participation of the educated, elite, elite, and affluent classes, their participation was not universalized, and their numbers remained negligible. The present book was compiled by interviewing family members of some of these women, collecting copies of contemporary newspapers, and scattered, unrelated material. In this, by presenting before the public the contribution of women power of Bihar in the context of freedom struggle, by inspiring the pride and self-respect and strength and courage of the women of Bihar and orienting them towards nation-building, floral tributes and homage are being offered to all the nameless and unknown freedom fighters.
