It is a comprehensively researched and written book which could be directed to a broad audience. There is a general coverage of topics which would sit well with the public, and at the same time it would also provide information which is useful to medical professionals like, myself, who do not have specialist knowledge in the field of public health domains. Dr Khokhar has made a commendable effort in writing the story of a womans life journey seen from the perspective of what makes up our physical bodies. She has also highlighted the circumstances that surround us in this world, today, which have a life-long effect on our every function. I congratulate Dr Khokhar once again on her great endeavour to describe simply the life story of a woman with great understanding and empathy, and which will speak to all the readers. This book covers the general aspects of womens health and the common diseases encountered after the age of forty. There is a need for such a book in India so as to increase the awareness about womenin understanding their body, ageing process and the disease states. Women above forty constitute a significant proportion of the Indian population in future and majority, in this age group, are at their productive peaks as far as family, career and societal aspects are concerned. With an increasing commercialization of medicine and blurring of borders between disease and physiological age-related changes, there is an urgent need to understand these issues. The book also covers issues related to common medical problems and cancer which will help in increasing awareness and early detection of these ailments.
