The four fundamental skills of English language are Listening, speaking , reading and writing. One who desires to master English language must focus on all the four skills equally. In other words , these four skills act as the four pillars of English language and the absence of any of these skills will keep the building of English language dangling . It has been observed that modern students do speak and read English language fluently , However, when they are asked to write an email or a letter or an essay or a notice , their legs begin shaking . They can convey verbally any message but they fail to convey correctly any message in written medium. Hence , their academic credentials are doubted by the masses . The mistakes in verbal communication are overlooked but the mistakes in written communication are not . A writer must know what to write , how to write and how much to write . A letter is written differently from an essay . Likewise, the pattern and format of an email is entirely different from an Advertisement. What modern students need is a book particularly designed to teach the formats of different writing skills of English language .
